ADDA MELISSA FREW

     Adda Melissa Frew, daughter of Elmer and Estella Frew, was born March 30th, 1890 at Oak, Nebraska and departed from this life on June 3rd, 1953 at White Salmon, Washington at the age of 63 years 2 months and 4 days.
     It was at Oak that she grew to womanhood and at the age of 18 she gave her heart to God, becoming a member of the Methodist church. Adda was always an active church worker and after the family moved to Washington in December of 1941, she became affiliated with the Little White Chapel at Bingen, of which she was a charter member.
     On December 31st, 1913 she was united in marriage to Noel Benjamin at Amelia, Nebraska. To this union were born four children -- Mary Estella Clemens, Howard N. and Floyd E. Benjamin, all of White Salmon, and Florence DeVere of Arcata, California, all of whom survive her.
     Other survivors include her mother, Mrs. Estella Frew of Santa Barbara, California; two sisters, Mary Fowler of Santa Barbara, California, and Inis Marpel of Santa Paula, California. There are also six grandchildren. Her husband, father, and infant brother preceded her in death.
     She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America Lodge for over 31 years.
     Funeral Services were conducted Saturday, June 6th, at 2 p.m. in the Gardners Funeral Home with Reverend Miss Pinnell officiating. Interment was in the White Salmon Oddfellow Cemetery. Pall bearers were: Kenneth Leet, Paul Price, Stanley Bebbington, Stanley Larsen, Danny Kramer, Dick Follmer.

     Our heartfelt thanks to all who extended comforting sympathy and help during the illness and death of our beloved mother. For the beautiful service, floral offerings, and other kindnesses, we are deeply grateful.

"Bingen News"

     Mrs. Benjamin also passed away last week after a prolonged illness. Her funeral was held on Saturday with interment in the I.O.O.F Cemetery.
