A telegram was received Monday evening by the Odd Fellows of the death of Amos Shafer at Basalt, Col., by lightning. Directions were immediately sent to have the body embalmed and sent here for interment. He was a former resident of this county, living on Crofton Prairie. He was about 40 years old and had no near relative in the country, his wife having been buried at Spring Creek several years ago. The body is expected tomorrow.
