RUTH EVELINA WIIDANEN ANDERSON

 

"Quiet, funny, witty, neat lady and sharp as a tack"

 

     On Jan. 1, 1916, Ruth Evelina Anderson, was born in Centerville, Wash., to Henry and Evelina Klockner Wiidanen. She died on Dec. 31, 2006, just hours before her 91st birthday.
     Ruth was raised in Centerville, attending Centerville school and graduating in 1934 She attended the Finnish Lutheran Church and was confirmed at an early age. On Sept. 19, 1936, she married Otis "Bodo" Anderson. The couple enjoyed 58 years of marriage. Ruth and Bodo continued to make their home in the Centerville area, farming on Finn Ridge.
     She was a committed homemaker and avid gardener. She enjoyed taking her mother to visit family and friends. Ruth and Bodo lovingly raised their niece, Lavern "Bunny" Anderson. After Bodo's retirement, they moved to Goldendale.
     Preceding Ruth in death are her parents, a baby sister "Nina," two brothers Eldon and Chester, her husband and a grand nephew, Scott Wiidanen.
     Survivors include her niece Lavern and her husband Frank Vranizan of Tacoma and their children and grandchildren; nephew Neil and his wife Patty of Centerville and their children and grandchildren; and first cousins Ray Mattson of Centerville and John Klockner of Longview, Washington.
     A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 6 at 2 p.m. at Erdman Funeral Home in Goldendale with burial at the Centerville Cemetery. If you wish to make a contribution in Ruth's name, Senior Services is suggested.
