LYLE PIONEER, ALF JOHNSON RITES TUESDAY
Alfred Nikodemus Johnson passed away Sept, 2, 1970 at
the Veterans Hospital in Vancouver, Washington. Mr. Johnson had been a resident
of Lyle, Washington since 1961.
He was born May 30th, 1891 in Sweden and had come to
America in 1910. He was united in marriage to Charlotte Smith as Boise, Idaho
on April 26th, 1937. By occupation he was a retired logger.
Surviving are his wife, Charolette of Lyle, four sons;
Marvin of Burns, Oregon; Leonard of Portland, Oregon; John of La Grande,
Oregon; and Lonnie of Lyle, Washington. One daughter; Katherine of Lyle,
Washington. A sister, Beda Heckel of Phoenix, Arizona. Two brothers; Robert
C. Johnson of Klamath Falls, Oregon and Herman of San Bernardino, Ca. Thirteen
grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September, 8th, 2
p.m. at Gardner's Funeral Home with Rev. Clare Brown of Dallesport officiating.
Interment was at Lyle, Washington.
