OBITUARY

     Andrew M. Rauscher was born in Austria-Hungary, December 8, 1867, and died in Portland, Oregon, August 8, 1921.
     When 8 years of age he moved with his parents to McGraver, Iowa, remaining there several years. Then he moved with his parents to Parkston, South Dakota. There he was engaged in a butcher shop for several years. In 1894 he was married to Miss Carrie M. Tuen. Seven children were born to this union, one boy died when an infant and Anna M. Rauscher died December 22, 1989 with the influenza. In 1902 the family moved to Stayton, Oregon where he lived for 13 years, living on a farm for six years and the remaining years lived in town. In 1916 he moved with his family to Goldendale, Washington, on his farm five miles east of Goldendale, where he lived until recently when he moved to town living there until the time of his death.
     The 26th of July he went to Portland to be operated on for varicose of veins at the Good Samaritan Hospital. He was recovering nicely from his operation when a telephone message Monday afternoon told of complications of a serious nature had set in. A blood clot started forming on his lungs at 1:30 and he passed away at 4:10, August 8, 1921. He was 53 years, 8 months of age at the time of his death.
     The remains were brought to Goldendale Tuesday evening. The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. Father Klein at the Catholic Church last Thursday morning, August 11, 1921, 9:00 o'clock a.m. The remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Mrs. Carrie M. Rauscher and five children, Andrew W., Joseph R., Amelia M., Laura and Herman. Besides his family he is survived by two brothers Martin Rauscher of Parkston, South Dakota, and Frank Rauscher, of Aumsville, Oregon; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Smith and Mrs. Stephen Polries, both of Parkston, South Dakota.

"Town and Country"

     The funeral of A.M. Rauscher, a resident of this city for a number of years, was held at the Goldendale Catholic church on Wednesday, August 11th. The interment was in the Catholic cemetery, near this city.
