AUDREY T. LEACH
Underwood resident Audrey T. Leach died Oct. 7 at Hood
River. She was 78.
Mrs. Leach was born to Katherine (Burns) and Gerard Goerger
in Leavenworth, Wash;on Jan. 7, 1913. She moved to Bremerton in 1928 and
attended Catholic school in Chehalis. On Aug.13, 1938, she married Glenn
Leach in Seattle and lived most of her life in Washington.
Between 1966-82, she and her husband housed 16 high school
boys, in Kodiak, Alaska, because the dormitory was not finished and many
of the guests kept in touch even after the family moved to Underwood in
1984.
Mrs. Leach was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
She liked to sew and take care of kids.
She is survived by her husband Glenn of Underwood; children,
Sharon Florence of Nespelem, Wash., Cathryrn Sikorski of Underwood, Sandra
Kavanaugh of Kodiak, Ala., Geraldine DeBoer of Anchorage, Ala., Patrick Leach
of Hoquiam, Wash., and Wilfred Leach of Nespelem. Wash.; sister, Katherine
Calabrese of Kent, Wash.; 18 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Services were held Thursday, Oct. 10 at St. Joseph's
Catholic Church, followed by burial at White Salmon Cemetery.
