A. LAUTERBACH FUNERAL RITES HELD MONDAY

     Funeral services were held Aug. 12 for August Lauterbach, who passed away August 7th at Skyline Hospital.
     August Lauterbach was born in Barkley, Texas, on Mar. 2, 1888. Surviving Mr. Lauterbach are: his wife, Ethel of White Salmon, whom he married in 1962; two brothers, William R. Lauterbach of White Salmon and Henry Lauterbach of North Bonneville; one sister, Miss Louise Lauterbach of Portland and numerous nieces and nephews.
    Services were held August 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Gardners Chapel in White Salmon with Pastor Gary Grafwallner officiating. Interment was in the Goodwill Cemetery in White Salmon.
     Pallbearers were: Bill Lauterbach Jr., Jim Lauterbach, Jerry Randle, Chip Kreps, Bodge Kreps, and Mitch Hecomovich.
     He came to White Salmon with his parents, Rudolph and Wilhemina Lauterbach in 1892 and worked on their ranch as a young boy.
     As a young man he went to work for John Wyers and learned to be a meat cutter. In 1916 he opened Lauterbachs Market which he operated until 1921 when he sold to C.F. Corn. He then moved to Puyallup, Wash., until 1931 when he returned to White Salmon and work for Lauterbach Brothers.
     During the war he worked at Vancouver, Wash. and later retired from the meat cutting profession in 1953 to make his home in White Salmon.

"GUS" LAUTERBACH RITES HELD MONDAY

     Funeral services were held Monday, August 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Gardner's Funeral Home in White Salmon for August Lauterbach, 80, who died Wednesday, August 7 in Skyline Hospital at White Salmon. Burial was in Goodwill Cemetery at White Salmon. Rev. Gary L. Grafwallner of the Lutheran Church in Stevenson officiated.
     Casket bearers were Bill Lauterbach, Jim Lauterbach, Jerry Randle, Chip Kreps, Bodge Kreps, and Mitch Hecomivich.
      Mr. Lauterbach was born Mar. 2, 1888 at Barkley, Texas. He came to White Salmon with his family in 1892 and had lived there since except for a few years in Puyallup and Vancouver, Wa. He received his education in White Salmon and was a meat cutter by trade. He had been living at Reed's Nursing Home in recent years.
     His wife, Ethel, is a resident of Skyline's Nursing Wing in White Salmon.
     Survivors include a sister, Louise Lauterbach of Portland; two brothers, Henry Lauterbach of North Bonneville, Wa. and William Lauterbach of White Salmon and nieces and nephews.
