BLANCH KUNZ SERVICES HELD MONDAY

     Blanche Kunz, born May 12, 1889 in Ravenna, Michigan to Elenora and Morton Sturtevant, passed away at Skyline Hospital October 15th at the age of 86 years. On September 2, 1925 she was united in marriage to Amil Kunz of Laurel, Washington. He passed away in 1963.
     She was one of the oldest pioneers on Underwood hill, being in and around this vicinity for 64 year. She, her husband, a child and a sister and family came from Michigan in the summer of 1911 by train to Lyle, Washington and then by horse stage coach to Glenwood. It was very dusty for the sisters' city hats, but it didn't take long for all to love this part of the country as well as the beautiful state of Michigan.
     Among their interests for hunting, fishing, camping and all woods activities, and flower gardening. They will long be remembered as a couple who loved their friends and the activities they enjoyed together, including the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
     Surviving Mrs. Kunz are one daughter, Lyola Houston of Underwood, Washington; one sister, Hazel Christensen of Hood River, Oregon; for nieces, Dorothy Mast of Roseburg, Oregon, Berniece Holms of Woodland, Washington, Bessie Olson of Husum and Elva Baker of Underwood.
     Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 20th, at Gardner's Funeral Home with Mozart Burles officiating. Interment was at Chris-Zada Cemetery in Underwood. Casket bearers were: Bud Morby, Pete Morby, Frank Morby, Robert Morby, Larry Morby and Clyde Morby.

     Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Gardner's Funeral Chapel for Mrs. Blanche Kunz, longtime Underwood resident.

 RITES READ FOR BLANCH A. KUNZ

     Funeral services were held Monday for Blanch Alice Kunz of Underwood, a resi­dent of the Underwood­White Salmon area for the past 64 years, who died in White Salmon Wednesday, October 15 at the age of 86.
     Mrs. Kunz was born May 12, 1859 in Ravenna, Michigan, the daughter of Morton and Elenora Sturtevant. She was married September 2, 1925 in Lewiston, Idaho to Emil J. Kunz, who preceded her in death in 1963.
     She was as a member of the Eagles Auxiliary of Bingen. Mrs. Kunz is survived by a daughter Mrs. A.F. (Lyola) Houston of Underwood and a sister Mrs. Hazel Christenson of Hood River. There are four nieces.
     Services were held at Gardner's Chapel in White Salmon with Mozart Burles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints officiating. Interment followed at the pioneer Chris-Zada Cemetery in Underwood.
     Casket bearers were Bud, Frank, Pete. Robert, Larry and Clyde Morby.
