BANFORD MAUPIN DIES WEDNESDAY
Banford Maupin, who was born Dec. 16, 1900 in Kentucky,
died at Skyline Hospital during the early hours Wednesday. He had been
hospitalized continuously since Sept. 28, 1967.
"Ben" as he was affectionately known to Husum residents,
had been postmaster there for many years until his retirement last year.
Gardner's will be in charge of funeral services.

SERVICES HELD MONDAY FOR HUSUM RESIDENT
Banford Maupin, a resident of Husum, Washington since
1932, passed away February 28th at Skyline Hospital in White Salmon.
He was born December 16th, 1900 at Shade, Kentucky, the
son of Alverta and William Maupin. He had served in the United States Army
from September of 1920 to July of 1921. At Slade, Kentucky on September 8th,
1921 he was united in marriage to Oma Banks. For many years until just recently
Mr. Maupin was postmaster at Husum, Wn.
He leaves besides his wife, Oma, two sons and a daughter:
James Maupin of Lyle, Washington, Melvin Maupin of Bremerton, Washington,
and Mrs. Lester (Allie) Mulkey of Bingen, Washington. Also four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 4th, 1:30 p.m.
at Gardner's Funeral Home in White Salmon with Rev. Homer Coulson of Goldendale
officiating. Interment was at White Salmon.
Casket bearers were: Ervin Clark, Melvin Locke, Lester
Mulkey, Frank Markgraf, Orie Kreps, Aaron Vigus.

FORMER POSTMASTER OF HUSUM DIES
Banford (Ben) Maupin, 67, former Husum postmaster, died
at the Skyline Hospital Wednesday morning after several years'
illness.
Surviving him are his wife, Oma;
two sons, James and Melvin C.; and a daughter Allie, Mrs. Virgil Mulkey of
Bellevue, Wa.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Gardners Funeral
Chapel.

FORMER HUSUM POSTMASTER DIES FEB. 28TH
Banford (Ben) Maupin, 67, a resident of Husum, died Wednesday
February 28 at Skyline Hospital in White Salmon.
He was born December 16, 1900 at Shade, Kentucky, the
son of Alverta and William Maupin. He served in the United States Army from
September of 1920 to July of 1921. At Slade, Kentucky, on September 8, 1921
he was united in marriage to Oma Banks.
For many years Mr. Maupin was postmaster at Husum.
His survivors besides his widow Oma, are two sons and
a daughter: James Maupin of Lyle; Melvin Maupin of Bremerton and Mrs. L.
(Allie) Mulkey of Bellevue, Wa. Also four grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Maupin were held Monday, March
4 at 1:30 p.m. at Gardner's Funeral home in White Salmon with Rev. Homer
Coulson of Goldendale officiating. Interment was in Goodwill Cemetery, White
Salmon. Casket bearers were: Ervin Clark, Lester Mulkey, Orie Kreps, Melvin
Locke, Frank Markgraf and Aaron Vigus.
