BERYL ALENE SMITHSON
A memorial service for Beryl Alene Smithson, a Milwaukie
resident, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Stehn's Milwaukie
Funeral Home. Private interment will be in Lyle, Wash.
She died on cancer Wednesday in her home. Mrs. Smithson
was 88.
Born September 3, 1903, in York New Salem, Pa., she had
lived in the Portland area for the past 30 years. Mrs. Smithson co-owned
and co-operated Milwaukie Products, now called Candyland, during the 1960s.
She had been active in the Milwaukie Loaves & Fishes program. Her husband,
Leonard Smithson, died in 1967.
Survivors include a niece; and a great-niece.
The family suggests remembrances be contributions to
the Oregon Division of the American Cancer Society.
