BEULAH RIDNOUR

     90-year-old Beulah Ridnour died in Hood River, Ore., on April 27, 2002.
     She was born Beulah Belle Garrett on Oct. 16, 1911, in Goff, Kan., to Clyde and Jesse (Finch) Garrett. She was raised in Gravity, Iowa, and on Nov. 24, 1928, she married John E. Ridenour there. The couple moved to Mill A in 1942 and Mrs. Ridnour worked as an assistant cook at the Mill A school. In the summertime, she clipped fish at area hatcheries. She also worked at Underwood Fruit and at the Hood River Cannery, which she retired from in 1974.
     Mrs. Ridnour loved quilting, cooking, crocheting and embroidery. She was a member of the Willard Women's Club and attended the Mill A Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed her grandchildren.
     Mrs. Ridnour is survived by her husband of 73 years, John, Underwood; brothers Eldon Garrett, Marvin Garrett and Orie Garrett, all of White Salmon; daughters Lois Green, Underwood, and Mary Lee Birkenfield, Carson; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and two great, great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are brothers Charles, Delbert, Orville, Ellis and Lowell and daughters Veta Green and Margaret Oberst.
     A graveside service was held at Chris Zada Cemetery in Underwood on Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at 11 a.m., with pastor Dave West officiating.
     Gardner Funeral Home of White Salmon was in charge of arrangements.
