BURTON HERSCHBACH
Burton Dell Herschbach, a High Prairie resident, died
on Jan. 18, 1997, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, Ore., of heart
failure, at the age of 74.
He was born Aug. 5, 1922, in San Jose, Calif., to Robert
and Dell Herschbach.
He came to Oregon in 1948. He married Lillian Eileen
Bucher in 1952. They raised their family in Cascade Locks, Ore., where he
was a self employed carpenter and owner of Dry Creek Wood Products, a family
owned business.
He enjoy hunting, fishing, hiking, and spending time
at the coast with his family.
He and his family moved to Lyle in 1980 and built a home
on High Prairie, where he and his family lived in the rest of his life.
Survivors include his wife Lillian; four daughters and
their husbands, Mark and Deborah Paukert, Beaverton, Ore., Arthur and Dee
Ann Mark, Portland, Ore., Cliff and Darrelle Anderson, Spangle, and Kenneth
and Daylene Cahill, Corbett, Ore.; three sons and their wives, David and
Ginger Herchsbach, Grove, Okla., Dell and Shelley Herschbach, Kemmerer, Wyo.,
and Dwain and Cheryl Herschbach, Bend, Ore.; 12 grandchildren, Lydia, Olin
and Galena, Spangle, Jaclyn, Corbett, Ore., Melissa, Alex and Delcie, Kemmerer,
Wyo., Adora, Rod and Samantha, Bend, Ore., Carrie and Tim, Grove, Okla.;
sisters Virginia Corbett, Vancouver, Pastor Eva Herschbach, California; brother
Mark, California; and many, many friends.
A celebration of life was held on Jan. 22, 1997, at 11
a.m. at Bateman-Carroll Funeral Chapel in Gresham, Ore., and he was laid
to rest in the Lone Pine Cemetery on High Prairie.
