BETTY GREEN

     Betty Green, 87, a resident of Dallesport, Washington, died at her home on Friday, September 21, 2001.
     She was born May 10, 1914, in Dahlgren, Illinois, one of fourteen children to Grover and Ada (Voliva) Knapp. She grew up and lived in Illinois until moving to Page, Arizona, in 1959. In 1964, she settled in Klickitat County.
     Betty was a homemaker, attended Wishram Community Church and was an avid worker of crossword puzzles. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining.
     Survivors include her daughters, Betty Claver, Peoria, Ill.; Alma Swain, Apache, Ariz.; Cathy Watts, Kell, Ill. and Cheryl Knorr, North Pole, Alaska; her son, Denver Green, Jr., Peoria, Ill.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her sisters, Leslie Hughes, Shelby, N.C. and June Overturf, Peoria, Ill.
     She was preceded in death by her husband, Denver Green, in 1989, and all her other siblings.
     Viewing visitation will be held at Smith Callaway Chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, and 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
     Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at Smith Callaway Chapel with Rev. Bobby Beauchamp officiating. Interment will follow at the Balch Cemetery in Lyle.
     Memorials may be made to Wishram Community Church.
