MRS. TANNER LAID TO REST AT LYLE CEMETERY

Well Known Resident Dies Suddenly; Was Recuperating when Death Came
----------

     The funeral of Mrs. F. Tanner was held at the Lyle church Sunday with Rev. Stark in charge. Mrs. Tanner has been ill for some time but had only been bedfast about ten days and she seemed better when she suddenly passed away. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the family in the loss of their dear one. The family wishes to thank all who so kindly assisted during their time of sorrow.

MRS. BARNHART OF LYLE, DIES

     LYLE, April 14 -- Bessie Esther Barnhart was born in Lake County, Michigan, March 9, 1884 and died in her home in Lyle, April 6, 1937 at 9:30 p.m.
     Her girlhood days were spent in and around Chase, Michigan. In 1901 she was married to Fred J. Tanner and to this union six children were born of which five survive.
     In 1906 they moved west to Seattle, where they lived until 1922. That year they moved to White Salmon and in 1924 they moved to Port Angeles. In 1928 they moved to Lyle and vicinity, where they have lived since.
     The deceased leaves behind her widower and five children, one daughter having preceded in 1933 and four grandchildren.
     The family are: Fred Tanner, her husband of Lyle, Mrs. Alice Ware of Port Angeles, Mrs. Helen Stigers of Lyle, George Tanner of Klickitat and Frank and Earl Tanner of Lyle.
     Also other relatives and hosts of friends.
     Funeral services were held at the Lyle church Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. with interment in the Lyle cemetery. Rev. Stark of White Salmon, officiated.
