BERT HUFFSMITH
Bert Raymond Huffsmith, a Klickitat County native, died
at his home in Husum on Oct. 17, 1996, at the age of 82.
Mr. Huffsmith was born July 11, 1914, in Glenwood, to
Minnie (Schultz) and Edwin Peter Huffsmith. He was born and raised in the
Glenwood area. He was a rancher and logger until 1962. He owned and operated
a service station in Trout Lake from 1962 to 1976. He then retired and moved
to Husum.
He married Opal Schneidler in 1938. She preceded him
in death in 1989.
He was a member of BPOE 1868.
Mr. Huffsmith is survived by his daughters, Margaret
Lucas, Vancouver, Cindy Reeves, Husum; son, Bert Dwayne Huffsmith, Trout
Lake; sisters Emma Keel and Eva Feller, both of Glenwood; nine grandchildren,
12 great grandchildren, and one great, great-grandchild.
Graveside services for Mr. Huffsmith were held Oct. 19,
1996, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Adams Cemetery in Glenwood, with Pastor Greg Petrie
officiating.
Arrangements were handled by Gardner Funeral Home in
White Salmon.

Bert Raymond Huffsmith, 82, passed away Oct. 17, 1996

Survivors include: daughters, Margaret Lucas of Vancouver,
Wash., Cindy Reeves of Husum; son, Bert Dwayne Huffsmith of Trout Lake; Sisters,
Emma Keel and Eva Feller of Glenwood; nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren
and one great, great-grandchild.
Graveside services were held Oct. 19, 1996 at Mt. Adams
Cemetery in Glenwood with Pastor Greg Petrie officiating.
