MRS. SCHLANGEN SUCCUMBS TO HEART ATTACK AT KLICKITAT
Klickitat -- Geraldine Maupin
The Dalles Fire Department ambulance responded to a call from the home of the Arnold Schlangens Sunday evening when Mrs. Schlangen, who had been under treatment for a heart condition, suffered an attack. All efforts failed to revive her and she passed away at her home about 9:45 p.m. Barbara Saunders Schlangen, with the exception of short periods of residence in Seattle and Maupin, Or., lived her entire life in Klickitat. She was married to Arnold J. Schlangen in Goldendale shortly after the end of his Navy service in World War II. To this union three children, Michael Arnold, who is employed by St. Regis; Michelle Maureen, a student at Walla Walla Community School and young Andy, a grade school student, were born, four sisters and two brothers also survive. Barb was an ardent bridge palyer and that and being with her family and friends was her greatest joy. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
