AGED LEWIS BLAINE PASSES AWAY
Following about two years of illness, Lewis Blaine, of
Bingen, died on March 24. He was born in Michigan on April 17, 1870 and came
to western Washington in 1900 where he engaged in lumbering for many years.
Mr. Blaine had been a resident of Klickitat county since
1928, having engaged in farming in the Underwood district until 1936, since
which he had resided in Bingen. He is survived by his widow, Greta, daughter,
Mrs. Annabel Walker of Klickitat, and two sons, Estel D. of the Blockhouse
mineral springs, and Claude O. Blaine, of Portland. Other relatives are five
grandchildren, Verial and Phyllis Blaine, of Portland, and Maxine, Pauline
and Richard Walker, of Klickitat, his daughter-in-law, Mabel Blaine, of Portland,
and son-in-law, Clifford Walker, of Klickitat, two brothers and one sister
in Michigan.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 26, from
the local church, Rev. Mr. Reynolds of White Salmon officiating at the cemetery
at White Salmon. The funeral was attended under the direction of the Gardner
Funeral Home.
