BERTHA HAMAN
Bertha Margaret Haman, resident of Bingen, died at her
home April 27, at the age of 80.
She was born in Trout Lake Feb. 26, 1902, to Julius C.
and Mary A. Hoke. In 1911 she moved to Bingen with her family. On Jan. 8,
1933, she married William H. Haman, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Haman was a 53 year member of Goodwill Rebekah Lodge
163, a member of the Past Nobles Grands and the Columbia Gorge Horticulture
Society. Until her death, she maintained one of the most beautiful flower
gardens in this area. She is survived by a step-daughter,
Lenore Yandell, Bingen; a half-brother, Charles W. Keys, Stevenson; a
step-brother, Vaughn Keys, Portland; a sister, Minnie Beardon, Portland;
a half-sister, Ellen Hendryx Rollog, Ketchikan, Alaska; and seven nieces
and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Haman were held Saturday at
10 a.m. at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon with Rev. Dave Garrison
officiating.
