BERTHA BRADSHAW
Berta Rebecca Bradshaw, a longtime White Salmon resident,
died in Hood River, Ore., on Oct. 13, 1999, at the age of 82.
Mrs. Bradshaw was born in Peggs, Okla, to Jim and Henryetta
Reel on Feb. 11, 1917. In 1934, she married Melvin Blevins. To this union
was born four children. After marrying Howard Bradshaw in 1946, the family
moved to California. The couple had two children. The entire family moved
to White Salmon in 1952. Other that the past 15 months, she spent the remainder
of her life in White Salmon.
Mrs. Bradshaw enjoyed staying busy, being a caring mother
and wife. In her younger years she found pleasure in music, especially country
music -- playing the guitar and harmonica. During the last years of her life,
she found great solace in her religion, family and friends.
She is survived by her children Ann Clark, White Salmon,
Wilma Estey, Prosser, Joyce Ingram, BZ Corners, J.R. Blevins, Snowden, and
Jim Bradshaw, White Salmon; brother Herb Reel, Hood River; sister, Nellie
Fisher, Tahlequah, Okla; 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, two great,
great-granddaughters and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters,
one brother, son-in-law Alvon Baker in 1987, husband Howard in 1993, and
youngest daughter June LaFollette in 1997.
Graveside services for Mrs. Bradshaw were held at Balch
Cemetery in Lyle on Oct. 17, 1999, with son Jim officiating.
