BEN BUNNEL DIES IN MCMINNVILLE
CENTERVILLE - Lilly Carter
The community was saddened Tuesday night to learn of the death of Ben Bunnell in a hospital in McMinnville. Mr. Bunnell was born and raised in the area and was from one of the county's earliest pioneer families. He was the father of Lorene Mattson and a brother of Chester Bunnell and Mrs. Earl Davis, The Dalles. Mrs. Mattson and Mrs. Davis had driven to McMinnville Saturday to be with their father. Graveside services will be at the Centerville Cemetery this Saturday at 2 p.m. with Harry Carter officiating.

BEN BUNNELL
Bennie S. Bunnell, 90, of McMinnville, Or., died February
20, 1973.
He was born and raised in the Centerville area and attended
school there, and farmed until 1925 when he moved to Pacific County near
Raymond, Wa., farming there until 1967 at which time he moved to McMinnville.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church at McMinnville,
the Men's Garden Club and a former member of the Odd Fellow Lodge.
He is survived by three sons: Sheridan of Blue Lake,
Cal., Melvin J. of Vancouver and Dale of The Dalles; three daughters: Gertrude
Boling of McMinnville, Lorene Mattson of Centerville and Velma Davis of The
Dalles; a brother Chester of Centerville; 17 and grandchildren and 25 great
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at the
Macy & Son Funeral home in McMinnville.
Graveside services will be held at the Centerville Cemetery
Saturday, February 24 at 2 p.m. with Harry Carter officiated.

Funeral services for Bennie S. Bunnell, age 90, were
Friday, February 23, at Chapel of Macy & Son. Interment was at Centerville
Cemetery, Centerville, Wash. Mr. Bunnell died February 20 at a McMinnville
hospital.
He was born January 30, 1883 at Centerville, the sons
of Marion Decatur and Susan jane Mills Bunnell. He was raised and schooled
in Centerville, attended Washington State College, and was a sheep rancher
in the Centerville area until 1925. He was married to Mona E. Hall on November
30, 1905, at Tacoma. She died in 1967. In 1925 they moved to Pacific County,
Wash. where they ranched until retiring to McMinnville in 1967. He was a
member of the First Baptist Church in McMinnville, the Men's Garden Club
and a former member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge.
He is survived by three sons, Sheridan Bunnell of Blue
Lake, Calif., Melvin J. Bunnell of Vancouver, Wash. and Dale Bunnell of The
Dalles; three daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Boling of McMinnville, Mrs. Lorene
Mattson of Centerville and Mrs. Velma Davis of The Dalles; a brother Chester
A. Bunnell of Centerville, Wash.; 17 and grandchildren and 25 great
grandchildren.
