CARL A. KAPP

     Carl A. Kapp of Carson died June II, 1999, at Rood River Care Center of natural causes. He was 93.
     He was born Nov. 7, 1905, in Underwood to Christiana (Baurle) and Henry Kapp.
     He married Nereeta Estes on Nov. 7, 1928. She passed away in 1973, and he married her sister, Nerissa, in 1975. She passed away in 1998.
     In the 1930s he worked for Skamania County Road Department, then worked at Broughton Lumber Co. until his retirement in 1974.
     Mr. Kapp was a fire warden for a time and raised and butchered cattle and pigs. He continued to cut fire-wood into the early '90s and liked hunting and fishing and gardening.
     Preceding him in death were his first wife, Nereeta; second wife, Nerissa; sisters, Betty Godfrey, Julia Thomas and Maria Williams; brothers, Henry and Max Kapp; and a son, Don Kapp, who died in 1951.
     Survivors include his daughter, Carlie Holmes and husband, Maynard, of Carson; son, Ron Kapp and wife, Jean, of Stevenson; sister, Rosa Reinland of Spokane, Wash.; step-son, Robert Henry of Olympia, Wash.; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
     Memorial service will be held Saturday, June 19, at II a.m. at Chris Zada Cemetery in Underwood.
     Donations may be made to American Cancer Society in care of Gardner Funeral Home.
