OLD RESIDENT PASSES AWAY
Mrs. Kate Lauterbach passed away Thursday evening of
last week at the home of Rudolph Lauterbach in this city after an illness
of four weeks with heart trouble. She was a native of New York, and was 69
years of age.
With her husband, the late John Lauterbach, she came
to White Salmon about twenty years ago, Mr. Lauterbach having been one of
the first postmasters of the town. In 1905 Mr. Lauterbach opened the Hotel
Washington and has had the property leased until two years ago when Mrs.
Lauterbach came to make the property her home.
Mrs. Lauterbach was loved by all who knew her for her
sweet kindly disposition and leaves a host of friends to mourn her. She is
survived by three daughters, one of whom, Mrs. Senne, came from Oakland,
California, to attend the funeral which was held Monday at 10 a.m. from the
Methodist Church, Rev. Knapp officiating assisted by Rev. Reid and Rev. Whitmore.

We the undersigned desire to express our heartfelt thanks for the many acts of kindness at the death of our dear mother and relative, Mrs. Kate Lauterbach.
(Signed)
