CARL MELCHER
Carl Melcher died Feb. 4 in Goldendale after a long illness.
He was born July 31, 1930 in Divide County, N.D. As a
young man, he moved to Waterville with his parents and attended school there.
He moved to Goldendale in 1964 and was employed by Fenton Bros. for six years.
He then went to work for the Standard Oil bulk plant in Goldendale until
illness forced his retirement.
He married Delores Walz Vickey in 1963. He was preceded
in death by his parents and one brother.
Survivors include his wife, Centerville; son Carl Earl,
Centerville; step children, Nora Wynhoff and Charles Vickey, Centerville;
brothers Bud, Glen, Larry and Dick, all of Wenatchee and Edgar, Waterville;
sisters Vera Johnson, Eva Engle Walson, Noonan, N.D., Ada Moore, Omak, Elva
Schettler, Ruby Anderson, Waterville, Lila Johnson, Bellevue and Alice Anderson
and one grandson.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Knosher Funeral
Home with Rev. Richard Valnes officiating.
Pallbearers were Bob Mailing, Bill Dove, Wilbur Davidson,
Morgan Connors, Larry Payne and Jim Gore. Interment was in the Centerville
Cemetery.
