CLYDE ALVIN PRANTE
Clyde Alvin Prante died Tuesday in the Oakridge Clinic
as the result of a car truck collision on highway 58 in Oregon.
Prante, was 37 years old. Funeral services will be held
at the Gardner's Funeral Home in White Salmon at 3:30 Saturday afternoon.
Burial services were not announced by Gardner's late Wednesday.

DEATHS OF FORMER RESIDENTS NOTED
Word has been received here of the deaths of two former
residents of Skamania County.
Tuesday, March 2, Clyde Prante, 37, of Oakridge, was
fatally injured in a collision between a car in which he was a passenger
and a truck. The crash occurred near Oakridge.
Theodore P. Flynn, who at that time of his death resided
at 3630 N.E. Glisan, Portland, died March 10.

CRASH VICTIM'S RITES SATURDAY
Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March
13, at Gardner's Funeral chapel, W.S. Clyde A. Prante, 38, former employee
of Broughton's at Chenowith. Burial was in Christ-Zada cemetery, Underwood.
The deceased is survived by his wife Doris (nee Sellstead)
and four children, Victoria 13, Frankie 5, Judy 3, and Rosemary, 1 month;
two brothers, Orvil of Kelso and George of Shelton; his father, Frank, and
a sister, Mary Ann Asbury, both of Estacada, Ore.
The young father died following a truck-car collision
near Oakridge, Oregon, Tuesday evening, March 9. According to state police,
the car in which the deceased was a passenger turned out in front of a truck
which struck it, mashing it "like a ball and carrying the car 100 feet off
the right side of the highway."
Prante was taken to the Oakridge Clinic where he died
an hour and a half later. George Harer, 31, Oakridge, the driver of the car,
suffered shock, a fractured rib and head lacerations.
The big truck and trailer was driven by Eugene David
Rennie, 27, of Portland. Neither he nor his relief driver was hurt. The truck
was owned by the Torchis Express Co., of Portland.

OAKRIDGE MAN KILLED IN CRASH
A truck car collision on Highway 58 near Oakridge Tuesday
evening took the life of a passenger in the automobile.
State police said the car turned out in front of a truck
which struck it, mashing it "like a ball and carrying the car 100 feet off
the right side of the highway."
Dead was Clyde A. Prante, 38, Oakrdige, who was taken
to the Oakridge Clinic and died less than two hours later. Driver of the
car, George Harer, 31, of Oakridge, was taken to the clinic and released
after outpatient treatment Tuesday night.
Later, after the death of Prante, Harer was taken to
Sacred heart Hospital where he was being treated Wednesday for shock, a fractured
rib and lacerations of the head and face. His condition was listed as "fairly
good" at the hospital.
The big truck and trailer was driven by Eugene David
Rennie, 27, of Portland. passenger with him was his relief driver, Joe P.
Sunseri, 28, Portland. Both were unhurt. The truck was owned by the Torchis
Express Co., of Portland.
Police had issued no citations as of Wednesday morning.
