FATHER TO LIE BESIDE HIS SON
Services for Charles Augustus Smith, 80, father of Mrs.
Okla Funderburk of White Salmon, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 19
at Gardner's Funeral Home.
The Rev. Milton Hunt of Stevenson's Lutheran church will
officiate. Burial will be at the Odd Fellows cemetery here beside his son
Eugene who was killed in a logging accident last year.
Pall bearers will be Cecil Nichols, Ed Brislawn, Pete
Portner, William Cooper, Roy Stephenson, and Con Henderson.
Mr. Smith was born May 22, 1877 at Palouse in Wickman
county. He died Friday, April 11, in a hospital at Sand Point, Idaho where
he was taken after breaking his hip in a fall.
He has been living at Sand Point with Mr. and Mrs. Alvin
Gleason formerly of White Salmon, for the past ten months.
Surviving Mr. Smith is his daughter Mary, Mrs. Funderburk;
son Lee Smith of Stevenson; three sisters in Oregon, Opal Chantler of Portland;
Mabel Reid of Monmouth and Ethel Smith of Redmond; brothers Walter and Linn;
14 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

CHARLES A. SMITH SERVICES TO BE HELD SUNDAY
Charles A. Smith, born May 22, 1877, passed away in
Sandpoint, Idaho, April 11th. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April
19th at the Gardner's Funeral Home with the Rev. Milton Hunt of Stevenson
officiating.
Interment will be in the White Salmon IOOF Cemetery.
Pall bearers will be Cecil Nichols, Ed Brislawn, Pete
