"Local News"
Merle W. Chapman left Monday for Sunnyside where he brought the remains of Cecil B. Tate, to Goldendale, for burial Tuesday this week. Cecil has been in poor health all summer, but his untimely end was not expected. The funeral was held Tuesday morning from the Catholic church, services being conducted by the Rev. Fr. T.A. Edwards, interment taking place in the Catholic cemetery. An obituary will appear later.

CECIL TATE, 21, PASSES AWAY
Cecil B. Tate, age 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Tate
of Sunnyside, died in St. Elizabeth's hospital at Yakima last Sunday. The
family includes the parents and three sisters, Louise, Gladys, and Genevieve
Tate of Sunnyside.
The funeral was held from the Goldendale Catholic Church,
Rev. Father Edwards officiating. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery,
near this city.
The deceased was a highly respected member of the Goldendale
Camp of the Woodman of the World, and the members attended the funeral in
a body.

OBITUARY
Cecil Beryl Tate, son of the Reverly and Margaret Tate
was born at Goldendale, April 11, 1906, and died at St. Elizabeth's Hospital
at Yakima, October 15, 1927, being at the time of his death 21 years, 5 months
and 11 days of age.
Cecil grew up to young manhood in and around Goldendale.
He was a graduate of Goldendale High School. He was a young man of sterling
character, loved by all who knew him. Last year he moved with the family
to Sunnyside, Wash. where his home was at the time of his death. He is survived
by his parents and three sisters, Louise, Gladys and Genevieve, all of Sunnyside.
It is hard to see one so young and happy taken. But the
world is better for Cecil's having lived his short life here. His sunny smile
will be sadly missed by his host of friends, both at Goldendale and Sunnyside.
The sorrowing family have the sympathy of the entire community.

CECIL TATE
Cecil Tate, for the past two years a resident of Sunnyside
and well known among the young people,died at St. Elizabeth's hospital in
Yakima, Saturday, Oct. 15, after an illness of about a month's duration.
He was born in Goldendale April 11, 1906, where the funeral
services were held Tuesday. Interment was made in the Goldendale cemetery.
He leaves his mother, father and sister Louise of Sunnyside, besides a host
of friends.
