Lyle Man Dies -- Carl C. Franzen, 67, a resident of the Lyle vicinity since his early manhood, died Sunday morning in a local hospital where he had been bed-ridden for the last year. He was born on Island Fohr, Germany, November 26, 1866 and came to this country when he was 21 years of age, settling near Lyle and residing there since. Surviving him are two brothers, Franz and Jergen and two sisters, Mrs. Elena Arfsten and Mrs. Dorothea Barawren, all of Germany. Funeral services will be conducted from the Lyle community church with Rev. W.I. Eck of The Dalles officiating. Burial will be in the Lyle cemetery, under direction of Crandall's.

FUNERAL OF CARL C. FRANZEN HELD THIS MORNING
Carl C. Franzen, 67, a resident of the Lyle vicinity
since his early manhood, died Sunday, Sept. 2nd, in a Dalles hospital, where
he had been bed-ridden for the last year. He was born on Island Fohr, Germany,
Nov. 26, 1866, and came to this country when he was 21 years of age, settling
near Lyle and residing there since.
Surviving him are two brothers, Franz and Jergen and
two sisters, Mrs. Elena Arfsten and Mrs. Dorothea Barawhen, all of Germany.
Funeral services are to be conducted from the Lyle community church today
at 11 a.m., with Rev. W.I. Eck of The Dalles officiating, with burial in
the Lyle cemetery.
