G. DOREEN MILAND

     G. Doreen Miland, a longtime resident of the area, died Oct. 1 at the age of 58.
     Mrs. Miland was born Dec. 5, 1927, in Hood River. She attended school in White Salmon and resided here most of her life. She lived in Brooking, Ore., for 24 years from 1955 to 1979, when she moved back to White Salmon. She was a cook at Carson Hot Springs Resort, and enjoyed being a 4-H and Scout leader and working with children.
     She is survived by two sons, Merwin P. Clark Jr., Libby, Mont., and Darroll Clark, Kennewick; a daughter, Merlene Mehlenbachep, Pasco; a sister, Phyllis Dietsh, Pullman; a brother, Bill Lauterbach, Trout Lake; and six grandchildren.
     Services were Friday at 11 a.m. at the White Salmon Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Young's Funeral Home in Tigard, Ore.
