DR. C. BILLINGTON DEAD

     Dr. Charles Frederick Billington was born in the state of Maine on November 6, 1838. He passed away in Portland, Ore., December 29, being a little past 79 years of age. He left Maine when a boy and moved to Wisconsin where he lived several years. He came to Goldendale in 1877 and spent most of the time since in Klickitat County. His home at the time of his death was in White Salmon. Dr. Burlington was known far and near as a cancer specialist having been quite successful in treating cancers for over thirty years. His health had been poorly for some time. He was taken to the Portland Medical Hospital Christmas Day. He died Sunday afternoon. He leaves four children, Mrs. H. W. Stump of Portland, Or,; F.C. Billington of Mabton, Mrs. Jesse Vo_berg of Roseburg, Ore., and Mrs. Hattie B_lupps of Walla Walla, and also his wife, Mrs. Emma Billington, who is also in the Portland hospital. Her health is in a very critical condition. His remains were brought back home Tuesday morning and laid to rest in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Rev. M. S. Staines having charge of the services.
