BENNET FUNERAL HELD WEDNESDAY
Charles Gilbert Bennett, was born at Boone, Iowa, October 20, 1875. He was united in marriage to Sadie Elida Berrill, at Shelby, Nebraska, on Dec. 25, 1900. To this union were born six children, Mrs. Opal Gunning, of Davenport, Wash., Mrs. Hazel Bradley, of Lyle, Wash., Mrs. Ora Atkins, of Goldendale, Wash., Mrs. Dorothy Leathers, of Columbia City, Ore., and Burrill, Orville and Charles, Jr., both deceased. Surviving also are twelve grandchildren, two brothers, Ira of LaGrande, Ore., Harry, of Portland, Ore., and five sisters, Emma Van Blaricom, of Vancouver, Wash., Georgia Alkire of Athinia, Ore., Alice Adkins, of Nebraska, and Agnes Alsworth, of California. Funeral services were conducted at the Lyle Methodist Episcopal Church by the minister, Rev. Roy Jenkins, with interment in the Lyle Cemetery.

Funeral services were held at Lyle, Wednesday of last
week, Rev. Roy Jenkins of White Salmon officiating, for Charles Gilbert Bennett
of Klickitat Heights, who died December 11.
Besides thw widow he is survived by four daughters, Mrs.
Opal Gunning, Davenport, Wash.; Mrs. Hazel Bradley, Lyle; Mrs. Ora Atkins
of Goldendale and Mrs. Dorothy Leathers, Columbia City, Ore. for a number
of years he resided at Columbus, now Maryhill, and was well knwon to our
people.

Charles Gilbert Bennett, 59, who died Dec. 10, at Lyle, Wash., was born at Boone, Iowa, Oct. 20, 1875. He was married to Sadie E. Burrill in 1900 at Shelby, Neb. They moved to Hood River, Ore., in the spring on 1903 then took a homestead 10 miles north of Lyle in the year of 1905 where he reseided until his death. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife and four daughers, Mrs. Will Gunning of Davenport, Wash., Mrs. Hazel Bradley, of Lyle, Wash., Mrs. Sherman Atkins, of Goldendale, Wash., Mrs. Virgil Leathers of Columbia City, Ore., 12 grandchildren, five sisters, two brothers, and a host of friends.
