C.E. GROVER PASSES AWAY
C.E. Grover, Pioneer homesteader of Laurel, died Thursday
afternoon from heart trouble. Mr. Grover had been on White Salmon last week
and his death was a great shock to his many friends.
Mr. Grover had lived in the Camas Prairie community about
twenty-five years. He leaves a widow and one daughter, Mrs. Ed. Novak, of
Umatilla, Ore.

Mr. C.E. Grover returned home Saturday very sick with pneumonia and heart trouble. He gradually grew worse until he passed away on Tuesday afternoon. The sympathy of the entire community is extended the bereaved widow.

OBITUARY
Chester E. Grover was born March 9, 1865, in Gilford,
Vermont. Married May 15, 1886, to Miss Drucilla J. Chapman. To this union
were born three children, two dying in infancy. Deceased leaves to mourn
his death a wife, one daughter, of Umatilla, Oregon; and five grandchildren;
one brother, George Grover, of Oregon City, Oregon, and one sister, Hannah
Ingels, of Free Water, Michigan.
Funeral was held at the home at Laurel Friday, March
11. Interment was in Mt. Adams cemetery; funeral conducted by Rev. Grant
Merchant.
