CHRISTABEL ANRIG
Longtime Trout Lake resident Christabel Anrig died in
Portland, Ore., on May 20, 2002.
She was born on Feb. 9, 1917, in The Dalles, Ore., to
John and Mabel (Wallace) Bunn. She attended schools in Kelso and Winlock
and graduated from Columbia Union High School in 1935.
On Aug. 17, 1950, she married John Anrig. He died on
Aug. 16, 2001.
Mrs. Anrig had dual memberships in White Salmon and Trout
Lake Grange 210 that totaled over 60 years. She was also a member of the
Women's Club, Quilter's Guild and was active in the local senior services
as a volunteer and officer.
She had many hobbies that she enjoyed, including sewing,
quilting and gardening. She loved birds and raised baby animals.
Music was also a joy and Mrs. Anrig loved playing the
organ. She loved traveling to Alaska, camping and picking huckleberries.
A busy person, she was active to the end.
Survivors include her daughters Harriet Batchelor and
Rhoda Lee English, both of Portland; son John Anrig, Trout Lake; seven
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by
her husband and sister Alcestis Jackson.
A memorial service will be held at Gardner Chapel in
White Salmon on Saturday, June 8, 2002, at 11 a.m.

36, Hood River, Ore. 97031.
