CECIL L. CLUBB, JR. DIES OF INJURIES FROM CAR WRECK
Cecil Leon Clubb, Jr., 22, of White Salmon, died Sunday
as a result of injuries received in an automobile crash about two miles east
of The Dalles on the old highway. It was reported that the car, driven by
Donald Criss 23, of White Salmon, failed to make a turn and crashed into
a rock wall.
Criss suffered head injuries and is in The Dalles Hospital.
Other occupants were Charles Phelps 21, of Bingen, who was moved to Skyline
Hospital, and Calvin Doolin, 23 of White Salmon, who was released Tuesday
from The Dalles Hospital. Phelps has three fractured vertebrae, a blood clot
behind his ear and internal injuries. He is showing improvement according
to his father.
The death made 10 in Oregon for the weekend.

SERVICES HELD FOR CECIL CLUBB
Cecil Leon Clubb, 22, died Sunday, Oct. 15, in The Dalles
of injuries sustained in a car accident near The Dalles that day. His mother,
Mrs. Cecil Clubb and a brother, John Earl of Yakima; a sister, Bonnie Jean
Miller, LaMesa, N. M. survive; also grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert E.
Clubb and Mrs. Emma Jaquins of Yakima. His father died in June.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 2 p.m.
in Gardner's Funeral Home in White Salmon, with Rev. Roger Clevenger officiating.
Burial was in Goodwill cemetery.
Casket bearers were Gary Mitchell, David Cox, John Duhrkop,
John Kebibek, Charles Crawford and Earl Clubb.
Clubb was born at Yakima, Wash., Jan 6, 1945. He served
in the Army infantry from April 29, 1964 to April 28, 1967 and attained the
rank of Specialist 4c. He recently returned from Viet Nam. He was employed
by Bingen Plywood.
