     Carrol Lee Goodwin, 43, of 1720 S. 9th Ave., died Sunday of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.
     Mr. Goodwin was found in a shed at the residence of his stepson, Terry Volkman, 1702 S. 8th Ave., Yakima, sheriff deputies reported. Deputies found a .30 caliber rifle near the body.
     Mr. Goodwin was born in Vancouver and lived in Grants Pass, Ore., prior to serving with the U.S. Army during World War II. Following the war he lived in Camas before coming to Yakima five years ago.
     He was a truck driver and was recently employed by Beattie & Sanger Trucking Co.
     Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rose Goodwin, a stepson, Terry Volkman of Yakima; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Larry (Rosalie) Willis and Mrs. Patricia Church, both of Yakima, and Mrs. Barbara Hamilton, of Waterloo, Iowa; three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Madden of Kirby, Ore., Mrs. Russell (Ellen) McCoy of Vancouver, and Mrs. June Kahl of Eagle Point, Ore.
     Also surviving are four brothers Cecil and Alfred Goodwin, both of Hermiston, Clifford Goodwin of Seattle, and Floyd Goodwin of California.
