SERVICE FOR C.L. KORTHASE HELD LAST SATURDAY

     Funeral services for Charles Louis Korthase, a resident of Lyle for many years, who passed away at Wheeler, Oregon February 13 following an illness of several weeks, was held from the Phillips Funeral Home Saturday afternoon at two o'clock with the Rev. Bruce Groseclose officiating.
     The deceased was a brother to the late Clarence Korthase and an uncle of Mrs. Cecil Allyn and Fred Korthase, of Goldendale. Others who survive him are the widow, one brother, James Korthase, of Barview, Oregon; three nieces, Mrs. Ross West of Garibaldi, Oregon; Mrs. Don Hutchins of North Bend; and Mrs. Stanley Hylton of Trout Lake.

CHARLES LOUIS KORTHASE

     Charles Louis Korthase was born June 6, 1894, in East Jordan, Michigan and passed away in Wheeler, Oregon on February 13, 1950.
     He came with his family to Aberdeen, Washington in 1911. In 1913 they moved to Lyle where he has since made his home. He was engaged in the building and contracting business for most of his life and was a member of the Columbia Grange.
     He is survived by his widow, Annie Korthase, of Lyle; a step-son, Glenn Grandstaff of San Fransisco, four grandchildren; one brother, James; four nieces; one nephew; and a host of friends.
     Funeral services were held in Goldendale from the Phillips Funeral Home on Saturday, February 18, the Rev. Bruce Groseclose officiating. Interment was made in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
     Pallbearers were Blan Theabolt, J. Creighton, Floyd Babcock, Chas. Fuhrman, A.G. Brown and Tim Hansen.

CHARLES LOUIS KORTHASE

     Charles Louis Korthase of Garibaldi, passed away at Wheeler on February 13th. He was born at Lyle, Washington June 6, 1884 at East Jordan, Michigan. He had been working at the Garibaldi mill for the past six months. He is survived by his wife Annie. His body will be held in state at Waud's Funeral Home until Thirsday when it will be taken to Goldendale, Washington, where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Phillips Home. Interment will be made in the IOOF cemetery.

"Lyle News"

     Mrs. Pete Tol received word Monday night at midnight of the death of Joe Korthase, who passed away in a hospital in Wheeler, Oregon. He had been ill for some time and had one of his legs amputated a short time ago and latest word had stated he was getting along nicely. He was taken worse and operated on and died following the operation. Funeral services will be held in Goldendale Saturday afternoon at two o'clock. The family has the sympathy of all in the loss of their loved one. Mr. Korthase had made his home in Lyle for many years and was held in the highest esteem by all. He was 54 years of age.

JOE KORTHASE DEATH REPORTED FROM LYLE
