MRS. R.H. EVERETT
Mrs. Clara M. Everett, wife of Rowland Hart Everett,
died at the Hood River hospital Saturday following an operation. The funeral
was held in this city Tuesday afternoon with interment in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
A large number of friends and relatives attended the services conducted by
Rev. E.W. McAbee of the Methodist church. Gardner's Service of this city
had charge of the funeral.
Clara M. Groshong, daughter of Judge A.B. Groshong, was
born at the old Groshong home just north of White Salmon, January 19, 1893.
She attended the local school and had spent all her life in of this city.
At the age of sixteen she joined the Baptist church being baptized on Sunday,
April 2, 1909.
She was married to Rowland Hart Everett in April 1912.
She was a member of Mount Adams Circle No. 697, of the Neighbors of Woodcraft.
She is survived by her widower, a daughter, Evelyn, aged
18 and a son, Edwin, 15 years, besides her father, Judge A.B. Groshong, her
maternal grandmother and two aunts. A twin brother of Mrs. Everett, who died
in his tenth year, is buried with their mother in the White Salmon cemetery
and one other brother who died in infancy is buried in Yakima.
The many friends join in sympathy for the bereaved family
and mourn the loss of a splendid woman.
