OBITUARY

Christina Margaret Linderman daughter of Nicholas and Ida Hefka Linderman, was born in Holstein, Germany, June 13, 1846. In 1852 she came with her parents to the United States and settled in the state of Wisconsin, where she grew to womanhood and received such education as the schools of that time afforded.
On Oct. 19, 1867, she was united in marriage to the late John Jaekel. To this union the following children were born: Chas. F., George W., Frank A., John A., James R., Albert O., Emil R., Mrs. Minnie McQueen of Ellensburg, Wash., Mrs. Ida McGill of Portland, Ore., and Caroline Two of these preceded her to the Great Beyond, George W. and Caroline.
In the fall of 1878 She came to Klickitat county and joined her husband who had preceded her about a year before. They took up a claim southwest of Centerville, where they made their home until the death of Mr. Jaekel in Aug. 1907. Mrs. Jaekel then made her home with her children.
She became a member of the Lutheran church in her childhood, and remained a faithful member of that communion until her death. She was a good mother, a good neighbor and liked by all who knew her. The community has lost a friend in her passing.
She passed away at the home of Mrs. W. Leidl in Goldendale on Jan.19, 1925, at the time of her death being 78 years, 6 months and 6 days of age.
Funeral services were held from the Christian church at Centerville Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 21, followed by interment in the cemetery south of that place. Besides her children, she leaves 18 grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn her departure, and to sympathize with the family in their hour of bereavement.
