CAGER M. STOTT CALLED BY DEATH

     Funeral services for Cager M. Stott, 78, White Salmon, were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 at Gardner's Chapel. The Rev. Alfred Palmer officiated. Burial was in the Odd Fellow Cemetery.
     Mr. Stott was born Jan. 1, 1883 in Des Moines, Iowa and was a lumber mill worker at Trout Lake prior, to moving to White Salmon five years ago.
     He is survived by his widow Ethel of White Salmon; five daughters, Hazel Allen and Della Yarnell, both White Salmon; Violet Bailey of Lyle, Margaret Butterfield of Redmond, Oregon and Lena Ramsay of Bend, Ore. Also 19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
     Six of his grandsons served as casket bearers: Keith and Elvin Butterfield, Marion and Robert Allen, Raymond Yarnell and Fred Dollar.

SERVICE HELD SATURDAY FOR CAGER M. STOTT

     Cager M. Stott, who suffered a stroke October 18th, passed away at Skyline Hospital November 2, at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 1 day.
     Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 4th at Gardners Chapel, with the Rev. Alfred Palmer officiating. Burial was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
     Mr. Stott was born January 1, 1883 in Des Moines, Iowa. His early adulthood was spent in Eastern Oregon.
     On February 4, 1906, he was married to Ethel Iola Reed, in Millton-Freewater, Oregon.
     The family moved to the Hood River Valley about 1920, and to B.Z. Corners in 1934. Mr. Stott spent many years working in sawmills despite the fact he lost his right arm in a mill accident in 1925.
     Prior to retiring from a mill work, he and his wife built a home on E. St. where friends are always welcome.
     He is survived by his wife Ethel of White Salmon; five daughters, Hazel Allen and Della Yarnell both of White Salmon, Violet Bailey of Lyle, Margaret Butterfield of Redmond, Oregon and Lena Ramsay of Bend, Oregon. Also 19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
     Six grandsons served as casket bearers: Keith and Elvin Butterfield, Marion and Robert Allen, Raymond Yarnell and Fred Dollar. The eldest grandson Russell Bailey, was unable to serve because of a broken leg, and three boys are in the armed services.
     A coffee hour was held at the Wesleyan Hall of the Methodist Church. Coffee was poured by Bernadine Dean tea by Della Yarnell.
