AMEND
Cortez 'Bill' Amend, 65, died Jan. 9 at Klickitat Valley
Hospital in Goldendale. He was born Feb. 2, 1916 to Rosa Lee (Taggart) and
Aaron Eugene 'Ernest' Amend at Jefferson City, Missouri.
Amend married Blanche Williams in 1949. He did construction
work in Missouri until 1959 when they moved west. He worked for about 10
years for a sawmill in Cascade, Ore. In 1969 they moved to Goldendale.
Amend is survived by his wife, Blanche Amend of Goldendale;
brothers, Cecil Amend of Jefferson City, Mo., Paris Amend of St. Louis, Mo.,
Ralph 'Buster' Amend of Kansas City, Mo.; sisters, Roxie Amend and Mrs. Irene
Leone, both of Granite City, Ill. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary services were held at the Catholic Church Tuesday
evening. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 13 at Knosher Funeral
Home, with Father Larry Kirby officiating.
