CLARENCE ENSLEY
Clarence O. Ensley died at his home in Lyle on Jan. 11,
1997, at the age of 78.
Mr. Ensley was born Sept. 18, 1918 in Washougal, to Elsie
May (Strong) and Olen William Ensley. He married Alma Brokaw on July 9, 1939
in Lyle. They lived in Goldendale, Stevenson and after his retirement from
the Department of Transportation, resided in Lyle.
Mr. Ensley was a member of the Lyle United Methodist
Church, American Legion Post #116 and Sundowner's Good Sam Club. He enjoyed
his family, friends and camping.
Mr. Ensley is survived by his wife of 57 years, Alma;
sons, Robert and his wife Pam, Washougal, Ronnie and his wife Karen, Brush
Prairie; daughters, Beverly and her husband Charles Gregory, Vancouver, Sandra
and her husband Harry Brink, Olympia; niece Jean Bradford, Kirkland; 12
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at Lyle Balch Cemetery on
Wednesday, Jan. 15, 1997, at 11 a.m.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Gorge, Lyle Community
Building Fund, or Lyle United Methodist Church in care of Gardner Funeral
Home, who was in charge of arrangements.
