CLIFFORD WESTLUND
Clifford R. Westlund, 90, died July 30, 2006, in Portland,
Ore. He was born November l7, 1915, in Park Falls, Wisc. His parents were
John and Emma Westlund.
He graduated from Park Falls High School. After high
school, he went to work for Hines Lumber Company and later entered the military,
serving in the US Army Air Corps during WWII. He served in both the
European-African-Middle Eastern Theater as well as the Asiatic-Pacific
Theater.
Following the war, he moved to Klickitat, where he lived
until l998. He married Martha Huber in on June 25, 1949, in Milwaukee, Wisc.
An employee of J. Neils Lumber Company, Mr. Westlund retired in l981 following
a 35-year career.
In l998, he moved to Beaverton, Ore., where he lived
until his death. During his life, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Martha, Beaverton, Ore.;
sons, Curtis of Beaverton and Mark of Vancouver.
A funeral service was held Friday, August 4, 2006, in
Portland at Adams Chapel in River View Cemetery with Pastor David Knapp of
St. Luke Lutheran Church in Portland officiating. Private family interment
was at Lyle-Balch Cemetery in Lyle.
River View Cemetery Funeral Home, Portland, was in charge
of the arrangements.
