ROLLIE WOODRUFF KILLED IN MILL ACCIDENT WED.
Rollie Woodruff, Trout Lake, was killed instantly Wednesday
night when a log from the truck he was unloading at the Woodruff mill pond,
rolled onto him as he un-hooked a chain.
The entire mill crew witnessed the tragic accident.
Trout Lake Legionnaires announced Thursday that their
dance planned for Saturday had been postponed.
Woodruff's body was taken to the Gardner Funeral Home
here.
Don Cole was with Woodruff at the time, helping to unload
the truck, saw the log slip and yelled a warning and jumped to safety.
Normally, the mill uses a cat to hold the logs as the
binder chains are loosened for the logs to roll into the pond, but on this
occasion the cat was not used.
