CLYDE S. HOUSTON FUNERAL SATURDAY
Lyle (special) Services for Clyde Sylvester Houston,
71, Lyle were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Gardners funeral service
in White Salmon. The Rev. George P. George officiated. Burial was in High
Prairie cemetery.
Mr. Houston was born March 10, 1884, in the Missouri
and moved to Montana about 1900. On Aug. 9, 1911, he was married to Miss
Rachel Irene Krattcer at Boseman, Montana where he worked for the railroad.
After living at Tieton, they moved to High Prairie in
1924. Since 1936 they have lived near Lyle. Mr. Houston died Monday Sept.
5, in the North Bonneville sanitarium.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel; a son, Lucien L.
Houston of Lyle; daughter, Winifred Pond of Kodiak, Alaska; 11 grand-children
and six great grand-children.
Pall bearers were James Curl, Lawrence Quinton, Bill
and Claude Brashers, Hildor Kure, Ten Taylor and (honorary) Byrd Clark and
Homer James.

CLYDE F. HOUSTON OF LYLE PASSES
Mr. Clyde F. Houston, of Lyle, passed away September 5th. He was born March 10, 1884 in Missouri. He lived at High Prairie in 1936, moving to Lyle in 1951. Funeral services will be held at Gardner's Funeral Home Saturday, the 10th at 1:30. Rev. George officiating. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Rachel Irene, a daughter, Winifred Pond of the Kodiak, Alaska, one son Lucien of Lyle, eleven grand children and six great grandchildren. Burial will be in the High Prairie Cemetery.
