CLARA WANG

     A memorial service for Clara S. Wang, 98, who passed away Dec. 20, 1994, at the Forks Community Hospital's long term care center will he held at the Masonic Temple in White Salmon on April 8 at 10 a.m.
     Mrs. Wang was born Aug. 26, 1896, in The Dalles to Martin and Christina Morast. Most of her young life was spent in The Dalles, where she attended school, assisted her mother in a candy store and was employed by The Dalles Telephone Company.
     Following her marriage to Palmer (Polly) Wang, they made their home in Trout Lake for approximately 50 years before moving to White Salmon and later to Forks, where they spent the remaining years of their lives.
     For several years, she maintained a 24-hour switchboard in their home for the Trout Lake Telephone Company, prior to the installation of the electronic switching system.
     She was a longtime member of the Presbyterian Church, the Order of Eastern Star and the Rebekah Lodge.
     She was preceeded in death by her husband in 1978, her parents, four brothers, three sisters, a daughter Agnes Nielsen, and sons Willard (Bill) and Martin Wang.
     She is survived by her son Walter Wang, South Beach, Ore.; daughters Jean Corum, White Salmon; and Anita Aplin, Forks; 24 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and several great great-grand-children.
     Memorials may be made to Hospice of Hood River.

CLARA WANG

     FORKS --  Memorial services for Forks resident Clara Sophie Wang, 98, will be conducted at a later date. Mrs. Wang died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 1994, in Forks.
     She was born Aug. 26, 1896, in Portland, Ore., to Martin and Christina Jourgensen Morast. She lived in The Dalles, Ore., most of her early life. She married Palmer Wang in 1919 in Dufur, Ore. She moved to Trout Lake, and to Forks in 1976. She was a life member of the Order of Eastern Star in White Salmon, Trout Lake and Forks.
     Survivors include son Walter of South Beach, Ore.; daughters Jean Corum of White Salmon and Anita Aplin of Forks; 24 grandchildren and several great- and great-great-grandchildren. Her husband died in 1978, and she was also preceded in death by four brothers, three sisters, sons Martin and Willard and daughter Agnes Nielsen.
     Mount Olympus Funeral Chapel is in charge.
