HEART ATTACK FATAL TO GLENWOOD MAN
GLENWOOD, Jan 31, (Special) -- Funeral services are to
be held tomorrow (Monday) for Carl Wilson, Glenwood merchant, whose death
shocked this community last Monday morning, when he succumbed to a heart
attack about 7:30 a.m.
Apparently in good, or at least usual health, hardly
anyone could realize that Carl had answered his final call, as he had expected
to do for service of his country last fall.
Born 41 years ago in Hamburg, Germany, while his parents
were in that country for a brief period, Carl came to Glenwood with his mother,
Mrs. August Kuhnhausen in 1908. He obtained his schooling in Glenwood, and
when later the Kuhnhausens moved to their ranch, assisted with the beginning
of their fox farm.
Later he found employment in Hood River stores and again
in Seattle where just prior to his return to Glenwood, he served as a member
of the personnel of Sears. Three years ago he came to stay with his mother
and step-father and after the death of his mother three years ago, assumed
the managership of the local mercantile concern. He is survived by his wife,
Mrs. Louise Wilson, his step-father, August Kuhnhausen, and several distant
relatives still in England.
