CHARLOTTE V. JOHNSON
Lyle resident Charlotte V. Johnson died Sunday, Jan.
24, in The Dalles, Ore., at the age of 81.
She was born April 12, 1906 to Delbert and Violet K.
(Redden) Smith in Silverton, Colo. She graduated from high school in Florence,
Utah, and married Albert Johnson in Burns, Ore., in the late 1930s. They
came to the Lyle area in 1961, and she made her life as a homemaker. Mrs.
Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, in 1971.
She is survived by her children, Marvin Merrill of Roseburg,
Ore., Leonard Johnson of Lincoln City, Ore., John Johnson of Milwaukie, Ore.,
Lonnie Johnson of Lyle and Kathy Roth, also of Lyle; a sister, Oleta Christensen
of Lyle; a brother, David Jones of Burns, Ore.; 15 grandchildren and numerous
great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for Mrs. Johnson were held Wednesday,
Jan. 27, at Lyle Balch Cemetery. Interment followed under the direction of
Gardner Funeral Home of White Salmon.
