BERRONG FUNERAL HELD ON THURSDAY
Mr. Charles Berrong of Underwood, passed away at the
Hood River Hospital on Jan. 6. He was 63 years old. He had been at the hospital
one day following a heart attack.
He is survived by his wife and six children: Charles
and Ike, of Portland,: Eugene of Underwood: Lois of Underwood: Earl of Underwood,
and Lloyd of Jackson, Mississippi. A son, Fred, was killed during World War
II.
Services were held Thursday at Gardner's Funeral Chapel
and White Salmon. Burial was the in the Underwood Cemetery.

FUNERAL TODAY FOR C.W. BERRONG OF UNDERWOOD
Funeral services will be held here today for Charles
W. Berrong, of Underwood, Washington, the passed away on Sunday, January
6th.
Charles W. Berrong was born at Hiawassee, Georgia on
January 30, 1888.
He is survived by his wife Edna Jura Berrong and six
children, Charles of Portland, Ike of Portland, Lois Sellsted of Willard,
Eugene of Underwood, Earl of Underwood and Lloyd of Jackson, Berrong, was
killed in action during World War II.
The Rev. George P. George will officiate and Harry Card
will sing during the service which is set for Gardner's Funeral Home at 2:00
p.m. today.

CHARLES W. BERRONG
Charles Washington Berrong, Underwood, was born January
30, 1888 at Hiawassee, Georgia and suffered a fatal heart attack Sunday,
January 6, 1952. Unaware of his complaint, he was active up to the time of
his death and on the night previous to his death was busy plowing snow.
He was married in 1908. After living several years at
Weiser, Idaho, he and his family moved to Chenowith in 1922. In 1925 the
Berrongs moved to Underwood.
Surviving him are his wife, Edna J. Berrong, and six
children: Charles and Ike of Portland, Mrs. Herb (Lois) Sellsted, Willard;
Eugene and Earl of Underwood; and Lloyd, University, Mississippi. Another
son of Fred, died in World War II. There are 12 grandchildren.
Services will be conducted by the Rev. George George
at Gardner's Funeral Home today, Thursday January 10, at 2 p.m. Interment
will follow at Christ-Zada cemetery on Underwood Heights.
