CHARLES W. CLARK SUCCUMBS FRIDAY
Charles W. Clark, 71, died Friday on the train enroute
to Wishram from Temple City, California. Death came suddenly and his body
was removed from the train at Eugene, Oregon. Services were held at St. James
Catholic Church at Wishram with burial at the Catholic Church Cemetery in
Goldendale Wednesday morning. Phillips Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Born in Kimbal, South Dakota, January 1, 1882, Clark
moved to Wishram in 1918 from Celilo and lived there until June, 1953, when
he and his wife moved to Temple City. Clark is survived by his wife, and
one daughter and son-in-law, Captain and Mrs. George J. Sutton now stationed
at Hanau, Germany. They have one son.
Active pallbearers were Ed Johnson, Ed Ashbrenner, Ray
Olson, Louis Walsh, Walter Larsen and Tony Delaney all of Wishram. Honorary
pallbearers were James Mills, J.A. Abney, P.J. Lee, Dr. W.F. Shorts, W.C.
Johnson, Lester Smith, Lloyd Tilson, F.G. Bunn, Charles L. Rayburn, Ertle
John, James Delaney, Elisha Davis, Roy Kastel and Jim Johnson of Wishram
and Irvin Lester of Bingen.
