Mr. C.W. (Bill) Simi, 56, Goldendale, passed away on
May 29 at his home. He was born in Goldendale on May 27, 1931 to Charles
R. and Edna Simi. He attended schools in Goldendale and graduated as salutatorian
in the class of 1950.
During High School, he was awarded the Bausch and Lomb
Science Award and was a four year lettermen. He attended Central Washington
University in Ellensburg and was named to the Dean's List for academic
excellence.
Bill and Tonya Piska were united in marriage in Richland
on November 21, 1955.
He was employed as a locomotive engineer with the Burlington
Northern Railroad for 31 years, retiring in 1986. He and Jeanne Logan were
married on June 12, 1978 in Cour d'Alene, Idaho.
Bill was a member of the Centerville Church of Christ,
Burlington Northern Veterans Association and an honorary lifetime member
of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers Lodge 758 in Portland. He enjoyed
hook latching, ammunition reloading, hunting, fishing, and camping.
He is survived by his wife and Jeanne of Goldendale;
sons Brian of Idaho and David of Vancouver; one grand-daughter Brandy; four
step daughters, Gwen Hastings of Alberta, Canada, Cheryl Sanderson of Vancouver,
Sharon Logsdon of Portland, and Shelly Watt of Vancouver. He is also survived
by step-sons Brad Simmons of Yakima, Steven Watt of Goldendale, and Scott
Watt of Clackamas, Ore., and an uncle, Merle Wiidanen of Centerville.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 12 at 11
a.m. in the chapel of the Knosher-Erdman Funeral Home with Reverend Lee Brock
will officiating. Interment was in the Centerville Cemetery.
