SMITH
Cecil William (Bill) Smith was born near Goldendale March
6, 1906 to William and Ella Willis Smith and passed away in The Dalles Nov.
16 after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Smith is survived by one sister, Margaret Beeks,
Goldendale; two brothers, Otis, Wishram Heights, and August, Kennewick and
several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three
sisters and two brothers.
Besides his nieces and nephews he was known as Uncle
Bill to a host of children and young adults. Although he had no children
of his own he dearly loved all children.
He served in the US Army during World War II.
Mr. Smith was a member of the First Baptist Church of
Goldendale. Services were Nov. 19 at Knosher Funeral Home with the Rev. Herbert
Evans officiating.
Pallbearers were David and Mike Counts, Don White, Dick
Smith, George Freer and Bruce Davenport.
Interment was in the Spring Creek Cemetery.
